Delicate Services for Medically Compromised Skin

When a person gets a cancer diagnosis, it is one of the most traumatizing, stressful and painful experiences that a person can go through. No matter what type of cancer it is, the treatment required to treat it can greatly impact the skin in ways you wouldn’t think of. The skin becomes reactive from the medications. It is more sensitive, dry, and delicate. Some targeted radiation treatments can also cause dermatitis in the area that is treated. And sometimes, if a person needs to have surgery, this will impact how a skin treatment such as a facial or massage can be performed.

A person who is going through this difficult journey will need the proper guideance and also safe, non toxic products to take care of their delicate skin. It will become difficult to maintain proper self skincare and also it may become a time when they don’t frequently, if at all, feel the touch of another human being. This is where the warm healing hands of an oncology trained esthetician comes into play.

As a oncology trained esthetician, I will consult with the patient to best understand what anti cancer therapies they are receiving, including medications and if they are receiving radiation or have gone through any surgeries. This assists me to provide a proper customized treatment that will best benefit them and that will also be safe for their specific conditions.

This is not a journey that anyone ever wants to go through. In the midst of it all, a gentle facial, massage, foot rub etc. can both ease the discomfort of certain side effects on the face or body and also soothe the mind and soul. But you want to receive a treatment by someone who has been specifically trained to work on patients going through this now or in the past.

Serenity Comfort Spa Treatment $85

A consultation must be done prior to scheduleing this appointment. It includes a detailed review of current medical treatment and medications and understanding each individual patient’s needs including making sure the date of the spa treatment is appropriate if currently undergoing Anti Cancer Treatment.

The focus of the Serenity Spa Treatment is to Hydrate, Calm and Nourish the skin. At this time, treatments for skin conditions such as anti-aging, hyperpigmentation, skin exfoliation services etc., are put on pause until the Anti Cancer Treatments are completed and the skin is no longer compromised.

The Serenity Comfort Spa Treatment includes Cleansing, Gentle facial massage, Mask, moisturizer, Hand and Arm massage and Foot and Leg massage and Scalp massage if desired. All services may be modified when necessary according to individual needs. Additional add on services may include, if necessary, red LED light therapy, surgical scar treatment and radiation dematitis therapy.
