What can I expect after a SQT BioMicroneedling treatment?
Redness: Most people will be red. Some for up to 2 days. This is a normal reaction that dead skin cells are metabolized.
Dryness: The skin will be relatively dry for a few days after the treamtnet because of the skin renewal process. When the skin is renewed, the skin is very dry and needs a lot of supplementary moisture and nutrition.
Itching: Itching means that your skin is generating new cells. Pat with cool water instead of rubbing hard with your hands. Also spraying with a cooling toner and/or patting lotion on will help.
Acne and Bumps: For skin with acne and closed pustules and papules, a large number of acne and closed acne may be discharged on the third day, which is the normal manifestation of discharge. The skin is simply purging.
Can I do this if I have sensitive skin?
It can be used on sensitive skin unless you are allergic to the spongilla spicule. This product will not cause skin allergies, instead, improving it and making the skin healthy. It is not recommended for people with severly thin skin layers.
How many times do I need to do the treatment?
It depends on the specific skin problem. Generally common skin conditions such as pimples and acne prone skin takes 1-2 treatments. More serious problems which require skin stregthening requires 3-4 treatments, while those with wrinkles, large pores, and skin damage needs 4 treatments
Who is not suitable for SQT spongilla spicules therapy?
This treatment is not suitable for people with autoimmune system disorders, thyroid disorders, cardiovascular disorders, heart disease and those who are unable to undergo skin-breaking treatment. A person with broken or injured skin that have used strong acidic products in the previous 2 weeks should not use Spongilla Spicules. It is also recommended to wait 1 month after doing any of the following procedures: Micro Fractional Laser, Laser Resurfacing, Thermacool, Botulinum Toxin, Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, Picosecond laser, Ablative Chemical Peels and Traditional Microneedling.
Do I need to avoid the sun afterwards?
Yes you should avoid the sun after the treatment and make sure to protect your skin with a non-irritating sunscreen as skin will be very sensitive to UV rays after the procedure . Keep sun exposure to a minimum for the first week after the treatment. Freckles or pigmentation might occur when skin is exposed to the sunlight without applying sunscreen.
